Syd Barrett - Clowns & Jugglers [LP] (PRE-ORDER)

Syd Barrett was one of the most original songwriters and musicians of his generation. His fearless experimentation with sound, using the limited studio technology of the 1960s, helped shape the future of psychedelic and progressive rock and inspired countless artists who followed. In 1967, while The Beatles were recording Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band at Abbey Road Studios, Pink Floyd were just down the corridor creating their groundbreaking debut, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. That landmark album, together with Syd's acclaimed solo recordings, remains among the most influential and enduring works in British music. Clowns & Jugglers is a stunning double album celebrating Syd Barrett's extraordinary musical legacy. It opens with Pink Floyd's unforgettable live performance of Arnold Layne, recorded at London's Barbican in 2007-the final performance by David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright together. Featuring an exceptional collection of artists interpreting Syd's timeless songs, the album includes performances by David Bowie, Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets, Kula Shaker, Martha Wainwright, Robyn Hitchcock, Soft Machine, Rosalie Cunningham, and many more. A fitting tribute to one of rock's most imaginative and influential pioneers, Clowns & Jugglers is an essential addition to the collection of every Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd fan.
